At 108 MHz with Quad I/O, this part can sustain a read throughput high enough to support execute-in-place (XIP) for many automotive MCUs, reducing the need for a large internal SRAM shadow. The memory is organized as 8M x 8 bits, so a single read command pulls a full byte per cycle in standard SPI, or four bits per cycle in Quad mode. If your design uses a Cortex-M7 or similar with a flexible memory controller, the 108 MHz clock lets you match the Flash read speed to the CPU's prefetch buffer without inserting wait states on every access.
Housed in a 16-SOIC (0.295", 7.50 mm width) package, this is a surface-mount part that reflows on a standard lead-free profile.
