Retransmit and programmable flags — flow control without glue logic
Retransmit capability lets the read pointer reset to the last programmed mark, useful for retrying a corrupted packet without flushing the entire FIFO. Programmable almost-full and almost-empty flags trigger interrupts at user-defined thresholds, offloading the host controller from polling the status. Together these features eliminate external counter and comparator ICs on the flag logic.
The commercial temperature grade restricts this part to controlled indoor environments — office telecom, lab instruments, server racks. Not rated for industrial motor drives, outdoor base stations, or automotive under-hood use without active thermal management.
