QDR II+ eliminates the bus-turnaround dead cycle that standard synchronous SRAMs incur when switching between read and write operations, so the datapath can sustain back-to-back transactions at the full clock rate. This matters in network packet buffers, test equipment capture memories, and radar/beamforming systems where every clock cycle carries payload data and a single idle cycle costs throughput. The 165-ball FBGA package (13x15 mm) keeps signal inductance low for the 550 MHz edge rates.
Commercial temperature grade — design-in boundary
This limits the part to indoor, controlled-environment equipment — server racks, lab instruments, telecom central offices with HVAC. If your design sees -40°C startup or an unvented enclosure, the industrial-temperature variant (CY7C2263KV18-550BZXI) is the correct fit. The supply rails, package, and footprint are identical between the two suffix options, so the PCB layout stays the same.
