256Kbit asynchronous SRAM for legacy 5V bus designs
The Infineon CY7C199-25VC is a 256Kbit asynchronous SRAM organized as 32K x 8 bits, with a parallel interface and a 25 ns access time.
25 ns access — timing margin for fast 5V buses
The 25 ns access time matches the read-cycle window of many 5V CPLDs, 8051-class MCUs, and legacy DSPs without wait states. If your bus runs at 33 MHz or slower, this part gives you at least 5 ns of timing margin after accounting for PCB trace delay and output load.
The CY7C199-25VC is marked obsolete by Infineon.
28-SOJ footprint — board-level fit
This is the same footprint used by many 32K x 8 SRAMs from the 1990s and 2000s, so a board originally laid out for a compatible SOJ-28 device can accept this part without a layout change.
