QDR II SRAM — 250 MHz bus for line-rate packet buffers
The CY7C1512KV18-250BZIT is a 72 Mbit Quad Data Rate (QDR) II synchronous SRAM organized as 4M x 18 bits. The 250 MHz clock yields a 500 MHz data rate on the read and write ports, delivering a peak bandwidth of 9 Gbps per device — enough to buffer 10 GbE packet streams without external interleaving. The dual independent read and write ports eliminate bus-turnaround dead cycles that plague common-I/O SRAMs. Each port operates at the full 250 MHz clock rate, so the controller can issue a read and a write every cycle without arbitration stalls.
Industrial temperature grade and 1.8 V core rail
The 1.7 V to 1.9 V supply range centres on a 1.8 V nominal rail — the same core voltage used by most mid-range FPGAs and network processors, so a shared regulator often suffices.
165-FBGA footprint — layout and assembly notes
Housed in a 165-ball fine-pitch BGA (13 x 15 mm body, 0.80 mm ball pitch), the package demands a controlled-impedance PCB with at least four layers for fan-out. The 0.80 mm pitch allows via-in-pad with microvias on HDI boards; on standard FR-4, dog-bone fan-out to the inner rows is the common approach.
