36 Mbit synchronous SRAM for wide-word buffers
This is a single-data-rate (SDR) synchronous SRAM — every clock edge latches addresses and control, but data transfers once per cycle. The 36-bit wide word is a natural fit for networking packet buffers, DSP coefficient storage, or any design that needs a wide data bus without multiplexing. It comes in a 100-lead TQFP (14x20 mm) for surface-mount assembly.
167 MHz clock and 3.4 ns access — timing budget for the bus
At 167 MHz the clock period is about 6 ns. With a 3.4 ns access time from clock edge to data valid, you have roughly 2.6 ns left for PCB trace delay, input setup, and hold at the controller. That is tight but workable with controlled-impedance routing and matched-length traces on the address/control bus. The 36-bit data bus needs careful termination — series resistors near the SRAM pins help damp reflections. If your controller has programmable output drive strength, set it to match the trace impedance.
Industrial temperature range and field replacement
The 100-TQFP package has a chamfered corner for pin-1 orientation — visible under a magnifier, so you can swap it in the field with a hot-air station and some flux. No lab bench required, but do use a preheater underneath to avoid warping the board on a dense layout. The TQFP footprint is common; if you have a stencil for 0.5 mm pitch QFPs, this one fits.
Active lifecycle — no EOL watch needed
Infineon lists the CY7C1440KVE33-167AXC as Active product status. No need to hunt for a replacement or stockpile for an LTB window.
