250 MHz QDR II SRAM — the buffer for line-rate packet processing
It clocks at 250 MHz on a parallel interface, delivering back-to-back read and write transactions with no dead cycles — the defining feature of the QDR architecture. This is the part you spec when a network processor or FPGA needs a true dual-port memory wall without bus-turnaround penalties.
The 165-FBGA (13x15 mm) footprint is standard across the QDR II family, so a density migration (up or down) shares the same board layout.
Supply rails and decoupling
The part runs from a single 1.7V to 1.9V supply rail. At 250 MHz the instantaneous current demand is high — plan for a dedicated 1.8V regulator with at least 1 A capability and place a 0.1 µF ceramic within 2 mm of each supply pin on the 165-ball BGA. The QDR II core is sensitive to supply ripple; a 10 µF bulk cap per quadrant of the array keeps the rail clean during burst reads.
