200 MHz QDR II SRAM — the bus bandwidth driver
The 200 MHz clock rate delivers back-to-back read and write operations on separate data ports, eliminating the bus-turnaround dead cycles that conventional SRAMs incur.
36 Mbit organized 2M x 18 — sizing the lookup table
The 18-bit word width is not arbitrary — it matches the common 18-bit bus used with parity or ECC coverage on a 16-bit data path. The 2M depth gives 2 million addressable locations, enough for moderate-size forwarding tables, descriptor rings, or trace buffers.
165-FBGA footprint — layout constraint
The 165-ball FBGA measures 15 mm by 17 mm. That is a 1.0 mm pitch BGA — no micro-via needed, but the escape routing on four layers is tight around the center balls. The package is surface-mount only.
Infineon (Cypress) no longer manufactures this exact speed and temperature grade.
