The CY7C1362C-166AJXC is a 9Mbit synchronous SRAM organized as 512K words by 18 bits — the 18-bit width provides a parity lane alongside the 16-bit data bus, useful in networking and telecom equipment where single-bit error detection is required without a full ECC controller. Rated for a 166 MHz clock with a 3.5 ns access time, this speed grade supports zero-wait-state pipelined reads in a typical 100-133 MHz memory controller interface — the 3.5 ns access gives the controller enough setup margin at the bus frequency.
Package and hand-solderability
The exposed pad is on the bottom of the TQFP; a thermal via array under the pad improves heat transfer to the PCB ground plane. The tray packaging is the standard shipping medium for this QFP body size — individual trays hold multiple devices separated by anti-static foam, suitable for manual pick-and-place in rework or low-volume assembly.
Operates from a single 3.3V supply with a 3.135V to 3.6V range — the tight tolerance means the board's 3.3V rail must stay within ±5 % to avoid violating the minimum or maximum. A local 100 nF ceramic per VDD pin plus a 10 µF bulk cap near the device is the standard decoupling recommendation for this family. It is not qualified for extended industrial or automotive temperature ranges.
