The Cypress CY62157EV30LL-45BVXI is an 8 Mbit asynchronous SRAM from the MoBL (More Battery Life) series, organized as 512K x 16 bits. The parallel interface is straightforward to hook up — address, data, chip enable, output enable, write enable — no clock, no refresh overhead. This is the kind of part that drops into an existing memory socket on a motor drive or a telecom line card without firmware changes.
Industrial temperature and active lifecycle
No official successor has been announced, and the MoBL series continues as an active product line.
45 ns access — timing margin for 8-16 MHz buses
For a 16 MHz MCU with a 62.5 ns cycle, that leaves about 17 ns of margin after address decode and board trace delay — tight but workable with careful PCB layout. If you are running a faster bus (say 25 MHz or above), you will want a faster SRAM like the CY7C1041 series at 10 ns, but that part is 4 Mbit and organized 256K x 16, so the density and bus width trade-off is real.
Supply and I/O compatibility
The write cycle time matches the read access at 45 ns, so page-mode writes are not supported — each write takes a full cycle.
