8Mbit MoBL® SRAM in a 48-VFBGA – what this part is
The Infineon CY62157EV18LL-55BVXIT is an 8Mbit (512K x 16) parallel SRAM from the MoBL® series, operating from a 1.65 V supply rail. The 55 ns access time sets the read/write cycle budget.
The 55 ns access time means the SRAM can deliver data 55 ns after the address is stable and chip enable is asserted. For a 16-bit microcontroller or DSP running at 20 MHz or slower, that timing closes with margin; for a 50 MHz bus you will need to insert wait states or use a faster SRAM. The 1.65 V supply is the headline differentiator – most parallel SRAMs need at least 2.2 V or 3.0 V, but this part runs down to 1.65 V, which is right at the core voltage of many low-power MCUs.

The 48-ball VFBGA (Very Fine-pitch Ball Grid Array) package is small – roughly 6 x 8 mm – and requires a multilayer PCB with microvias or blind vias to route the 16 data lines and address lines out from under the package. The ball pitch is 0.5 mm, so standard through-hole assembly won't work; this is a surface-mount-only part.
