6-channel charge pump regulator with 24 A per output
The Infineon BTS5662EAUMA1 is a DC DC regulator using a switched capacitor (charge pump) topology, designed for automotive LED lighting applications where six independent channels each deliver up to 24 A. Brightness control is handled through an SPI interface, allowing digital dimming commands without external PWM generation. The device operates from a 5.5 V to 28 V supply rail and switches at 2 MHz, which keeps external charge-pump capacitors small.
24 A per channel — load budget and thermal planning
Each of the six outputs is rated for 24 A continuous, making this part suitable for high-brightness LED arrays in automotive exterior lighting — headlamps, daytime running lights, or matrix beams where multiple strings share a single regulator. The 24 A per-channel figure is the output current capability; the actual load per channel must be derated based on the junction temperature, which is rated up to 150 °C.
Obsolete — no new production, sourced from surplus
For new designs or volume production, a pin-compatible replacement or functional equivalent should be qualified. Procurement for this part is limited to the surplus and broker channel.
The 150°C maximum junction temperature sets the thermal budget: at 24 A per channel, the power dissipation in the internal switches must be calculated against the package thermal resistance to stay below this limit.
