PROFET 4-channel high-side switch — 45 mOhm, 3.4 A per channel
The Infineon BTS5434GNT is a 4-channel high-side power switch from the PROFET family, designed for general-purpose switching of resistive, inductive, and capacitive loads. It integrates four N-channel MOSFETs with a typical on-resistance of 45 mOhm per channel, each rated for a continuous output current up to 3.4 A. The switch operates over a load voltage range of 4.5 V to 28 V and does not require a separate Vcc supply for the logic interface — the input-to-output ratio is 1:1 with a non-inverting, parallel interface. Built-in fault protection covers current limiting (fixed), open load detection, over-temperature shutdown, and over-voltage clamping, with an auto-restart feature that re-enables the output after a fault condition clears.
This makes it suitable for under-hood and engine-adjacent environments where ambient temperatures can exceed 105°C and the die must handle self-heating from continuous load current. The 45 mOhm typical Rds(on) at 25°C will increase with junction temperature — expect roughly a 50% rise at 150°C junction, which must be factored into the thermal budget for continuous 3.4 A per channel.
