9 mOhm high-side switch for 12 V / 24 V automotive loads
The Infineon BTS54220LBFAUMA1 is a four-channel high-side power switch in the Automotive series, built to drive resistive, inductive, and lamp loads on 12 V and 24 V vehicle electrical systems. Each N-channel output is rated for 5 A continuous with a typical on-resistance of 9 mOhm, which keeps conduction losses low enough that the PG-TSON-24-3 package can handle the full current without an external heatsink in most under-hood environments.
SPI control and fault reporting
The switch is controlled and monitored through an SPI interface, which allows the microcontroller to turn each channel on or off independently and read back fault status without extra GPIO pins. The built-in fault protection covers fixed current limiting, over-temperature shutdown, and over-voltage clamping — the part handles short-to-battery and short-to-ground events on the load side without external protection components.
150°C junction rating — fits engine-bay thermal budgets
The 5.5 V to 28 V load supply range covers nominal 12 V car batteries and 24 V truck systems, with margin for load-dump transients that can spike above 40 V.
