Product details

12 mOhm high-side switch for 10A loads

The BTS50121EKBXUMA1 is a single-channel N-channel high-side power switch from Infineon's PROFET family. Its 12mOhm typical Rds(on) keeps conduction loss under 1.2W at 10A continuous output, which means the exposed-pad package can dissipate that heat without a dedicated heatsink in still air — a real advantage on densely populated automotive PCBs.

Load supply range and fault coverage

The switch operates with a load supply from 5V to 28V, covering 12V and 24V nominal rails plus 5V logic loads. Compared to the low-side HITFET BTS142DATMA1 (23mOhm, 4.6A), the BTS50121EKBXUMA1 offers roughly half the on-resistance and more than double the current capability, but is a high-side configuration — the two are not pin-compatible, so the topology decision comes first.

Active production — no obsolescence clock

It is in current manufacturing with no announced end-of-life. The PG-DSO-14-47-EP exposed-pad package is a standard Infineon footprint, widely second-sourced in form factor if not in exact Rds(on).

Temperature grade and board integration

Rated for junction temperatures from -40°C to 150°C, this switch is qualified for under-hood automotive environments.

Frequently asked questions

Can BTS50121EKBXUMA1 be used in a 5V system?

Yes. The load supply range is 5V to 28V, so a 5V rail is within specification. The switch does not require a Vcc supply pin — it is self-powered from the load voltage.
