High-side switch for 12 V automotive loads
It drives resistive, inductive, and lamp loads up to 25 A continuous from an 8 V to 18 V supply rail.
3.9 mOhm Rds(on) – conduction loss and thermal budget
With a typical on-resistance of 3.9 mOhm, this switch dissipates roughly 2.4 W at 25 A (I²R). That heat flows through the TO-263-7 (D²Pak) tab to the PCB copper plane; the junction temperature rating of 150 °C sets the derating curve for real-world ambient conditions underhood or in an engine bay.
Integrated fault protections for harsh environments
The device integrates over-temperature shutdown, over-voltage clamp, reverse battery protection, and short-circuit current limiting. These protections are essential for an automotive power distribution node where load dump, reverse polarity, and wiring faults are expected events, not anomalies.
Obsolete – sourcing through independent distribution
Infineon lists the BTS500251TADATMA1 as obsolete.
