The BTS426L1 is a single-channel high-side power switch from Infineon's PROFET® family, built with an N-channel MOSFET output and a typical on-resistance of 50 mOhm. It switches loads from 5 V to 34 V, delivering up to 5.8 A continuous, and requires no external Vcc supply — the gate drive is self-biased from the load voltage.

Fault protection and diagnostic feedback

Integrated fault protection covers current limiting (fixed), open-load detection, over-temperature shutdown, and over-voltage clamping. A status flag output signals fault conditions to the host controller. The auto-restart feature re-enables the switch after a thermal fault once the junction cools, which is useful for intermittent overloads in lamp or motor loads.
