PROFET high-side switch for 12 V and 24 V loads
The Infineon BTS410E2NKSA1 is a single-channel PROFET high-side power switch in a through-hole PG-TO220-5-3 package. It switches a resistive, inductive, or lamp load on the high side with a typical on-resistance of 190 mOhm, delivering up to 1.6 A continuous output current. The load supply range spans 4.7 V to 42 V, covering nominal 12 V and 24 V automotive and industrial rails with margin for load-dump transients.
Built-in fault protection simplifies the BOM
Fault protection includes current limiting (fixed), open-load detection, over-temperature shutdown, and over-voltage clamping — all integrated, so no external sense resistors or comparators are needed for basic load monitoring. The switch also features auto-restart and a status flag output, allowing the system controller to distinguish a temporary over-current event from a hard fault without polling the load current.
Obsolete — sourcing through independent distribution
Infineon lists the BTS410E2NKSA1 as obsolete. For BOM lines that require this exact order code, the only supply channel is independent distribution — new-old-stock or surplus inventory sourced per RFQ. The through-hole PG-TO220-5-3 package (five formed leads) is a legacy footprint. If the board is being redesigned, a surface-mount PROFET in the same current class may be a more practical fit for automated assembly, but no pin-compatible drop-in replacement is documented.
