The SMCJ90A-13: The 90 V reverse standoff voltage means it stays transparent on a nominal 90 V DC rail, only conducting when the line exceeds the 100 V minimum breakdown threshold. Unidirectional construction (one channel) suits DC power buses where the transient polarity is known — the cathode band on the DO-214AB body marks the protected rail side.

DO-214AB surface-mount footprint

Housed in the DO-214AB (SMC) package, the same footprint used across the SMCJ family for 1.5 kW rated devices — the copper pad area under the package sets the thermal impedance for repetitive pulse trains.
