The SMCJ6.0CA-13: With a 6V reverse standoff voltage, this device stays transparent on a 5V or 3.3V rail until the transient exceeds the breakdown threshold of 6.67V minimum — the 10.3V clamp then shunts the surge away from the protected IC. The bidirectional configuration means a single device handles positive and negative transients equally, which simplifies BOM layout on signal lines where polarity is not fixed.

Housed in the DO-214AB (SMC) surface-mount package, the SMCJ6.0CA-13 mates with a standard footprint shared across the SMCJ family — the same pad layout accepts the full voltage range from 5V to 170V standoff variants. The junction temperature range spans -55°C to 150°C, covering industrial control cabinets and outdoor telecom enclosures where ambient heat and self-heating from repetitive surges must be budgeted. Supplied on Tape & Reel or Cut Tape, the package suits high-volume pick-and-place assembly without special handling.
