Product details

1500W Zener TVS in DO-201 Axial

The 1.5KE6.8A-G: It clamps transients at 10.5V maximum, protecting a 5.8V nominal rail from overvoltage events up to 142.86A peak pulse current. This is a general-purpose transient suppressor in the standard DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead package, intended for through-hole mounting on PCBs or terminal strips.

Clamping and Breakdown Margins

The 10.5V clamping voltage ensures that even a full 1500W pulse does not drive the protected node above the typical 12V absolute-maximum rating of downstream 5V logic. The 142.86A peak pulse current rating (Ipp at 10/1000µs) is the current the diode can shunt during the transient — the actual current in circuit depends on the source impedance and the clamping voltage. The 1500W rating is the product of Vc × Ipp at the test waveform. Power line protection is not supported — this is a signal-rail or low-voltage bus protector, not a mains surge suppressor.

Active Production — Sourcing Note

Packaging is Tape & Box (TB) — axial-lead devices taped on bandolier for automated insertion, boxed rather than reeled. The DO-201 footprint is common across the 1.5KE series, so a single PCB layout serves multiple voltage variants.
