1500W axial-lead transient suppressor
The 1.5KE47A-HF: The 23.15A peak pulse current rating tells you the surge it can absorb before the junction gives way — useful for estimating margin against the expected transient energy in a 40V rail.
Package and rework reality
DO-201AA axial leaded package (also known as DO-27) — through-hole, so no hot-air rework needed. The leads are stout enough to survive a few bend-and-straighten cycles if you're replacing one on a board with tight lead spacing. Pin 1 is the cathode band; orientation is unambiguous as long as the band is visible after soldering.
The 1.5KE-HF series is the family; other breakdown voltages in the same package are available if the 47A variant is the fit.
