Surge rating and protection thresholds
The 1.5KE36A-G: Clamps at 49.9 V maximum, with a breakdown voltage window starting at 34.2 V minimum and a reverse standoff of 30.8 V — the part stays transparent below 30.8 V and begins conducting above the breakdown threshold, shunting the surge before the downstream circuitry sees the clamp voltage. Single unidirectional channel, so polarity matters: the cathode band goes toward the protected rail, anode to ground. For bidirectional protection on AC lines, two units back-to-back or a bidirectional part is needed.
Package and board integration
DO-201AA / DO-27 axial-lead through-hole package — the body diameter is about 5.3 mm and the lead spacing suits standard 0.4-inch (10.16 mm) PCB hole patterns. The lead bend radius and standoff height follow the package drawing for reliable solder-joint formation. Supplied in Tape & Box (TB) — the axial leads are taped to a carrier for automated insertion machines; the box quantity is typically 500 or 1000 pieces per box, but confirm at RFQ.
Temperature range and operating environment
The peak pulse power derates linearly above 25°C; at 150°C the derated capability is roughly 60% of the 1500 W rating.
Active lifecycle status — Comchip Technology continues production of the 1.5KE36A-G.
