Voltage ratings and the clamp decision
For a 12 V or 15 V rail, the 18.8 V standoff gives headroom; for a 24 V rail, the margin is tight — the standoff sits below the nominal 24 V, so this part is not suited there. The 49.02 A peak pulse current at 10/1000 µs tells you the surge the device can sink before the junction temperature exceeds the rating. That 1500 W peak pulse power is the product of the clamp voltage and this current — a standard metric for comparing TVS diodes in the same package class.
Through-hole axial package, -55 to 150°C range
Housed in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial leaded package, the 1.5KE22CA-G mounts through-hole — the leads handle the pulse current without the trace lift risk a surface-mount part faces on a poorly anchored pad. The wide temperature envelope means the leakage current at the standoff voltage stays predictable across the thermal swing — no derating gymnastics at 85°C.

The Tape & Box (TB) packaging option suits automated insertion for axial diodes — the leads are taped and the bodies are boxed, not reeled, so the feed mechanism differs from a tape-and-reel setup. Confirm the feeder compatibility before programming the pick-and-place.
