Temperature sensing with ±1°C accuracy and programmable thresholds
The TMP01EP from Analog Devices is a programmable temperature sensor that delivers ±1°C accuracy across a -55°C to 125°C operating range, making it suitable for precision thermal management in industrial and instrumentation applications. Its Active High open collector output signals both OverTemp and /UnderTemp conditions, with the trip temperature thresholds programmable via external resistors — the switching temperature is fully configurable, not fixed to a single value.
Supply and output drive considerations for the BOM
Operating from a 4.5 V supply, the sensor draws a switching current of 0.5 mA (500 µA) and can sink up to 50 mA at the open collector output — enough to drive a small relay, LED indicator, or logic input directly without a buffer transistor. The selectable hysteresis feature lets you set a temperature deadband between the trip and reset points, preventing output chatter near the threshold — useful in fan-control or heater-cutoff loops where noise or thermal cycling is present.
Through-hole package and active lifecycle for design flexibility
Supplied in a Bulk package with Through Hole mounting, the TMP01EP is suited for prototyping, breadboard evaluation, or low-volume production where hand-assembly or socketing is preferred over reflow.
