60°C trip point with ±3°C accuracy
The MAX6665ASA60 is a temperature-switch fan controller from Analog Devices that asserts its outputs when the die temperature crosses 60°C. The ±3°C accuracy sets the guard band. Four output functions — FanOn, /FanOut, /OverTemp, /Warn — give the designer separate signals to start the fan, indicate an overtemperature fault, and provide a pre-warning. The outputs are configurable as open-drain or push-pull, active-high or active-low, which simplifies interfacing to both legacy and modern logic families. Selectable hysteresis prevents output chatter around the trip point, a practical concern when the thermal mass of the heatsink or enclosure is small relative to the power dissipation.
Supply range and drive capability
Supply current is 65 µA typical, which keeps the self-heating contribution negligible in the temperature measurement. The output can sink or source up to 250 mA.
Active lifecycle in 8-SOIC exposed pad
The SOIC exposed-pad package provides a low thermal resistance path from the die to the PCB copper plane, which is essential for accurate die-temperature sensing. RoHS non-compliant — if your assembly requires RoHS conformance, confirm the exemption or seek an alternative. The part is, so plan for tape-and-reel if your pick-and-place line requires it.
