The Maxim Integrated MAX418MSD/PR is a quad general-purpose op-amp in a 14-SOIC surface-mount package. Its 8 kHz gain-bandwidth product and 0.005 V/µs slew rate place it firmly in the ultra-low-frequency domain — think DC signal conditioning, thermocouple amplification, or battery-voltage monitoring where bandwidth is negligible but micropower operation matters. Each of the four channels draws 1 µA of supply current, making this a strong candidate for always-on sense circuits in portable or remote equipment where every microamp is budgeted.
Rail-to-rail output and supply range
The maximum supply is 10 V, so it also works in traditional ±5 V split-rail designs. Input offset voltage is 1 mV, and input bias current is 0.1 pA, both typical for CMOS-input stages. Output drive is 600 µA per channel, adequate for driving ADC inputs or moderate loads.
Lifecycle and compliance
Note that this variant is listed as RoHS non-compliant, which matters for designs targeting EU RoHS exemptions or legacy maintenance builds where lead-bearing solder is still permitted. For new RoHS-compliant designs, verify the lead-free suffix variant.
