Four-channel capacitive isolator — 5000 Vrms reinforced barrier
The MAX22445FAWE+ is a 4-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from Maxim Integrated using capacitive coupling to deliver 5000 Vrms galvanic isolation across a 16-SOIC wide-body package. Three channels run from side 1 to side 2, one channel runs the opposite direction — a 3/1 split that fits SPI or general-purpose signal isolation where the chip-select or fault line needs to come back across the barrier. Data rate hits 200 Mbps, enough for high-speed SPI, CAN FD, or parallel bus isolation without pulse-width distortion exceeding 2 ns. Propagation delay is tight at 9.2 ns / 9.4 ns max, so timing margin on a 50 MHz clock stays comfortable.
5000 Vrms isolation qualifies the part for reinforced insulation applications. The 50 kV/µs minimum common-mode transient immunity keeps data intact in motor-drive or inverter environments.
Package and mounting — 16-SOIC wide-body
The 16-SOIC (0.295", 7.50 mm width) wide-body package is the same footprint used by TI's ISO77xx and Silicon Labs' Si86xx families, so a board layout designed for those parts accepts the MAX22445FAWE+ without a respin. Surface-mount only; the tube shipping option is typical for prototype or low-volume builds — production reels are available but the ordering code for tape-and-reel differs (check the MAX22445FAWE+ T&R variant).
