1.2V fixed rail, 500 mA — core-logic supply in a 3×3 mm footprint
The MAX1589ETT120+: The 70 dB PSRR at 1 kHz means ripple from a switching pre-regulator is attenuated by a factor of 3000 — clean enough for sensitive analog front-ends or digital core supplies where noise on the 1.2 V rail would couple into PLLs or ADCs.
Industrial temp grade and protection set
Quiescent current is 140 µA typical — low enough for always-on supplies in battery-backed equipment where every microamp extends standby time. Built-in over-current, over-temperature, and short-circuit protection means the LDO survives a downstream fault without latching off or damaging the pass element. The enable and reset control features allow sequencing — the reset output holds the load in reset until the 1.2 V rail is stable.
6-TDFN exposed-pad — thermal and layout notes
The 500 mA output at 1.2 V from a 3.6 V input dissipates about 1.2 W — the exposed pad keeps the junction below the 125°C limit when the board copper area is adequate.
