RS-232 transceiver with wide supply tolerance

The MAX13223EEUP+: It handles serial data at up to 250 kbps, which is sufficient for most legacy RS-232 links in industrial controllers, point-of-sale terminals, and instrumentation. The supply range spans 3V to 5.5V, so the part can run from a 3.3V or 5V rail without an extra regulator — one less component to qualify for the BOM.

The 500 mV receiver hysteresis helps reject noise on long cable runs.
