Active BOM fit — gain-setting without resistor networks
The LTC6910-1CTS8#TRPBF is a single-channel programmable gain amplifier (PGA) with an 11 MHz gain-bandwidth product and a 16 V/µs slew rate. The gain is set via a serial 3-wire interface, not external feedback resistors — one part replaces a resistor ladder and a mechanical trim pot. The rail-to-rail output stage swings to within a few millivolts of the supply, so an ADC with a 0-5 V input range gets the full span without a level shift.
Housed in a TSOT-23-8 (thin SOT-23), 2.9 mm × 2.8 mm body with 0.65 mm pin pitch. The 0.9 mm seated height clears low-profile mezzanine connectors. Supplied on Tape & Reel (TR) with Cut Tape (CT) option for prototype quantities. The reel quantity is 2500 units per 7-inch reel, standard for this package family.
Supply current, output drive, and thermal budget
Quiescent supply current is 3.5 mA typical — moderate for the 11 MHz bandwidth. The output can source or sink 35 mA per channel, enough to drive a 100 Ω load to within 1.2 V of the rails. Continuous DC drive into low-impedance loads will raise the die temperature above ambient; the TSOT-23-8 package has a θJA of about 190°C/W, so a 100 mW internal dissipation adds ~19°C to the junction. Input offset voltage is 1.5 mV typical — acceptable for gain stages up to 100× where the offset at the output stays under 150 mV. For DC-coupled precision below 1 mV, an auto-zero amplifier would be a tighter fit.
Suitable for benchtop instruments, lab data acquisition, indoor industrial control panels, and office-environment equipment. Not qualified for -40°C automotive or outdoor telecom cabinets without active heating/cooling. ROHS3 compliant — no RoHS exemptions. Acceptable for EU, UK, and similar regulated markets without a waiver.
