Six channels, one direction — what the 5/1 input split means
The ADUM7641ARQZ is a 6-channel unidirectional digital isolator from the ADI iCoupler® family. It uses magnetic coupling to pass digital signals across a 1000 Vrms isolation barrier. Five channels run from Side 1 to Side 2, and one channel runs in the opposite direction — a 5/1 input split that suits SPI-like interfaces with a single return line or a mixed sensor/control link where most signals go one way. Data rate is 1 Mbps, with typical rise/fall times of 2 ns and a maximum propagation delay of 75 ns each way. The 25 ns pulse-width distortion keeps the pulse shape intact enough for most UART, GPIO, and low-speed SPI links. Common-mode transient immunity is rated at 15 kV/µs minimum, which handles motor-drive and inverter noise without glitching the output.
Supply range and temperature — fits the industrial floor
No isolated power on board — each side needs its own supply rail. The 20-QSOP package (3.90 mm wide) is a compact footprint for space-constrained PCBs. Mounting is surface-mount only.
