Automotive-grade isolation at 1 Mbps — the selection trap this part avoids
The ADUM1200WSRZ is a 2-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from Analog Devices' iCoupler® family, built with magnetic coupling technology.
At 1 Mbps, this isolator handles SPI, UART, and general-purpose logic-level signals without timing trouble. The propagation delay is 150 ns max with a pulse-width distortion of 40 ns max, so it works cleanly with most 1 MHz or slower serial buses. If you need 10 Mbps, the ADUM1200WTRZ is the same footprint but with 50 ns propagation delay.
Common-mode transient immunity — 25 kV/µs minimum
With a minimum common-mode transient immunity of 25 kV/µs, the ADUM1200WSRZ can reject fast voltage transients between the isolated grounds — a common failure mode in motor-drive and inverter applications. This spec is tested and guaranteed across the full temperature range, not just at 25°C.
Package and mounting — 8-SOIC, surface-mount
The supplier device package is 8-SOIC. No exposed pad, so thermal management is straightforward — just ensure the board layout follows the usual SOIC-8 land pattern.
