Product details

2500Vrms isolation, 10Mbps — what it covers

The ADUM1200BRZ is a two-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from Analog Devices' iCoupler family, using magnetic coupling to transfer data across a 2500Vrms isolation barrier. It handles 10Mbps per channel with 50ns propagation delay and 3ns pulse-width distortion, making it a fit for isolating SPI, UART, or general-purpose GPIO signals between ground domains. Common-mode transient immunity is 25kV/µs minimum. Both channels are forward-direction only (2/0 input count).

For new designs, the standard iCoupler portfolio remains the primary source; the ADUM1200WTRZ (automotive grade, -40°C to 125°C) is a pin-compatible sibling if extended temperature or AEC-Q100 qualification is needed.

Frequently asked questions

What is the equivalent of ADUM1200BRZ?

For a three-channel forward-direction isolator, the ADUM1300BRWZ offers the same electrical specs with an additional channel.

Is ADUM1200BRZ compatible with 5V systems?

The inputs and outputs are rated for the supply voltage, so no external level shifter is needed when interfacing 5V peripherals.

Can ADUM1200BRZ be used for I2C isolation?

The ADUM1200BRZ is unidirectional — both channels drive from Side 1 to Side 2. I2C requires bidirectional data (SDA) and a clock line (SCL) that can be driven from either side. For I2C isolation, a dedicated bidirectional isolator such as the ADUM1250 or ADUM2250 is recommended.
