Product details

Two-channel isolator for 1Mbps signal paths

The ADI ADUM1200ARZ-RL7 is a dual-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from the iCoupler family, using magnetic coupling to transfer logic signals across a 2500Vrms isolation barrier. The 2.7V to 5.5V supply range lets it bridge logic levels between different voltage domains on the same board.

The 2500Vrms isolation rating is the basic safety isolation level for many industrial and medical applications. It provides galvanic separation between two ground domains, protecting low-voltage logic from transients on the other side. The 25kV/µs common-mode transient immunity means this part can sit on a motor-drive or inverter control board without false-toggling when the power stage switches — a common failure point with optocouplers in those environments.

Unidirectional channels — 2/0 input/output mapping

Both channels run in the same direction (Side 1 to Side 2), with no reverse channel. That means this part is for isolating signals that flow one way — a sensor output to a controller, a control signal to a gate driver, or a relay command. If you need bidirectional isolation (like for a half-duplex RS-485 bus), the ADUM1201 with a 1/1 input split is the sibling to look at.

Active and available through distribution

It is ROHS3 compliant. No LTB or allocation concerns for new designs.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between ADUM1200 and ADUM1201?

Both are dual-channel iCoupler digital isolators with the same 2500Vrms isolation, 1Mbps data rate, and 8-SOIC package. The difference is channel direction: the ADUM1200 has both channels going the same way (2/0 input/output), while the ADUM1201 has one channel in each direction (1/1 input/output). Choose the ADUM1201 when you need bidirectional isolation, for example on a half-duplex UART or RS-485 bus.
