What this iCoupler channel does on your board
The ADI ADUM110N0BRZ-RL7 is a single-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from the iCoupler series, using magnetic coupling to pass a digital signal across a 3000Vrms isolation barrier. The 1.7V to 5.5V supply range lets it bridge logic levels between a low-voltage MCU and a 5V peripheral on the other side. Common applications include industrial fieldbus isolation, motor-drive feedback paths, and isolated sensor interfaces where the environment runs -40°C to 125°C.
75kV/µs CMTI — why it matters in a noisy environment
The common-mode transient immunity of 75kV/µs is the rating that tells you this part survives the sharp voltage edges from a motor-drive inverter or a switching power supply without glitching the output. If the isolation barrier sees a fast common-mode voltage swing — say, from a 600V bus switching at 20kHz — a lower-CMTI part might couple that transient across as a false pulse. At 75kV/µs minimum, this ADUM110N0BRZ-RL7 holds the line. Pair it with the 3000Vrms isolation rating and you have a robust barrier for industrial and automotive applications.
Active lifecycle — no LTB surprise
For dual-sourcing or a second channel, the ADUM121N1BRZ-RL7 is a 2-channel sibling with the same 150Mbps data rate, 3000Vrms isolation, and 75kV/µs CMTI — same SOIC-8 footprint, same electrical specs, just one more input channel on side 1.
