The ADM2482EBRWZ-REEL7 is an Analog Devices iCoupler isolated RS-422/RS-485 transceiver that uses magnetic coupling to provide 2500 Vrms galvanic isolation between the bus and the logic side. The three channels are configured 2/1 (two inputs on side 1, one on side 2), unidirectional, which covers the usual DE/RE control and data path in half-duplex RS-485. With a common-mode transient immunity of 25 kV/µs, it keeps data intact when a motor drive or inverter slams the bus with fast common-mode swings.
The 16 Mbps data rate is the headline number, but the CMTI of 25 kV/µs is what keeps the link alive in a noisy industrial bay. If you are routing this into a motor-drive or solar-inverter control board, the fast common-mode transients from the IGBT switching can corrupt a slower isolator's output. The ADM2482's magnetic-coupling architecture handles that without extra filtering. The 2500 Vrms isolation rating covers the basic reinforced isolation requirement for most 240 VAC equipment, but check your system's working voltage and creepage — the 16-SOIC package gives 7.5 mm body width, which helps on the PCB spacing side.
