The ADM1166ACPZ accepts any supply rail from 3V to 14.4V, covering the common intermediate bus voltages (3.3V, 5V, 12V) without needing a separate bias regulator. That single wide-range input simplifies the power tree — one part monitors and sequences rails across a 12V backplane down to a 3.3V core. Quiescent draw is 4.2 mA typical, which is the total current the sequencer itself consumes from that input rail. For a 12V bus this is about 50 mW of overhead — negligible next to the loads being sequenced, but worth budgeting if the part is powered from a always-on auxiliary supply with a tight current ceiling. The sequencer's internal references and comparators are trimmed over this band, so the threshold accuracy spec holds at both a cold start in an unheated cabinet and a hot rack in a crowded panel.
