RF/IF PLL synthesizer for the 2.7 GHz band
The Analog Devices ADF4212BRUZ is a single-channel PLL frequency synthesizer covering RF and IF synthesis up to 2.7 GHz. It accepts CMOS or TTL reference inputs and delivers a single-ended clock output.
Active lifecycle — no LTB pressure
ADI lists the ADF4212BRUZ as Active. ROHS3 compliant. For a storeroom planner, this part is still a standard-catalog line — no need to stockpile or chase a phase-out window.
What the 2.7 GHz ceiling means for the RF chain
The 2.7 GHz maximum frequency places this synthesizer in the L-band and lower S-band range — satellite downconverters, microwave backhaul IF stages, and test equipment local oscillators. It is not a baseband PLL for clocking FPGAs or ADCs; the output is a single-ended clock meant to drive a VCO or a prescaler. The differential input helps when the reference source is remote or shares a ground with noisy digital logic.
