DDS core and frequency synthesis
The AD9850BRSZ-REEL is a complete direct digital synthesizer (DDS) from Analog Devices, integrating a 10-bit DAC on-chip with a 125 MHz master clock. The 32-bit tuning word gives frequency resolution down to 0.029 Hz at the full clock rate, which is the practical floor for fine-step sine-wave generation in communications and instrumentation. The 10-bit DAC sets the spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) baseline — expect typical SFDR above 50 dBc for a full-scale output, degrading at higher output frequencies as the DAC's sinc roll-off and clock feedthrough dominate. For applications requiring better than -60 dBc, the AD9851 with its 180 MHz clock and 6× reference multiplier is the next step up.

The reel variant (2,500 units per reel) is the standard high-volume option; the tube variant AD9850BRSZ is also active for lower-volume builds.
