Differential amplifier for current sensing and level shifting
It operates from a 3.5 V to 12 V supply span, draws only 250 µA quiescent current, and delivers a 50 kHz gain-bandwidth product with a 0.28 V/µs slew rate.
Supply range and power rail compatibility
The 3.5 V minimum supply lets this part run from a 3.6 V lithium cell or a 5 V industrial rail with headroom. The 12 V maximum covers 12 V automotive battery systems and 10 V precision references. A design targeting a 3.3 V rail is marginal — the 3.5 V floor means the part needs a boost regulator or a separate 5 V supply.
With a 50 kHz gain-bandwidth product and 0.28 V/µs slew rate, the AD8202YRMZ is optimized for DC and low-frequency signals typical of current-sense resistors and bridge transducers. A full-scale 5 V step at the output will slew in about 18 µs, so the part is not intended for audio or fast-switching applications. For a 10 kHz sine wave at 2 V peak, the output distortion stays low — the bandwidth is adequate for most shunt-monitor and motor-phase current loops.
The 125°C upper limit allows placement near a motor housing or exhaust-side sensor without derating. The 8-MSOP package has a modest thermal footprint; for high-side sensing at elevated ambient, verify the junction temperature against the power dissipation in the application.
