Dual 12-bit DAC with R-2R core
The AD7847BRZ-REEL is a dual 12-bit voltage-output DAC built around an R-2R ladder architecture. Two independent converters share a common external reference, delivering a buffered voltage output from each channel. Integral nonlinearity is ±0.5 LSB max, and differential nonlinearity is ±1 LSB max — the monotonicity guarantee across the full 12-bit range means no missing codes at any code transition. Settling time to ±0.5 LSB is 5 µs typical, which sets the per-channel update rate ceiling in a multiplexed or point-to-point control loop.
Supply rails and analog interface
Analog supplies are ±14.25 V to ±15.75 V — the bipolar rail pair gives the output buffer headroom to swing near the rails for a ±10 V output range typical of industrial control DACs. The data interface is parallel, so all 12 bits are latched simultaneously on a single write strobe — no serial clock overhead, which matters when the host bus is already time-constrained.
Package and compliance
Housed in a 24-SOIC wide-body (7.50 mm width) package, surface-mount, supplied on Tape & Reel or Cut Tape. The 0.295-inch body width is the standard SOIC-24W footprint shared across multiple Analog Devices DACs. ROHS3 compliant per — no exemptions beyond the standard RoHS substance limits.
