A2B audio transceiver for automotive cabin audio
The AD2426KCPZ is an A2B (Automotive Audio Bus) audio transceiver from Analog Devices, part of the Automotive series. It provides a single-channel digital audio link over a twisted-pair cable, using an I²C control interface and I²S audio data interface. The part operates from a 3V to 3.63V supply and is specified over the commercial temperature range of 0°C to 70°C. It comes in a 32-lead LFCSP (5x5 mm) package with an exposed pad for thermal dissipation.
Supply and interface — what they mean for the BOM
The 3V to 3.63V supply range is a tight 3.3V nominal rail. The I²C bus handles register configuration and diagnostics; the I²S port connects directly to a codec or DSP audio serial port.
Temperature grade — deployment boundary
The 0°C to 70°C rating limits this part to cabin or climate-controlled modules. It is not rated for under-hood, engine bay, or exterior automotive locations where ambient exceeds 70°C. For those environments, the AD2426WCCSZ01 variant is rated -40°C to 105°C, and the AD2428BCPZ covers -40°C to 85°C.
Package and footprint
The 32-LFCSP (5x5 mm) package has an exposed pad on the bottom. The pad must be soldered to a PCB thermal land and connected to a ground plane for heat sinking. The part is surface-mount only; no through-hole option exists. Tray shipping is standard.
Lifecycle and sourcing
It is RoHS3 compliant. For dual-sourcing, the AD2428BCPZ is a functional alternative with the same interface and package but a wider temperature range (-40°C to 85°C). The AD2426WCCSZ01 offers the same function with wettable-flank terminals for automated optical inspection.
