AC'97 codec with 4-channel ADC front end
The Analog Devices AD1981BJST-LV is a stereo audio codec implementing the AC'97 specification, built around a sigma-delta modulator core. It provides four ADC channels and two DAC channels at 16-bit or 20-bit resolution, with a typical dynamic range of 85 dB on the ADC side and 90 dB on the DAC side. The part is aimed at motherboard audio, multimedia sound cards, and embedded systems that need a legacy AC'97 link to a host controller or DSP.
Package and interface
Housed in a 48-lead LQFP (7x7 mm body), the AD1981BJST-LV connects to the host via an AC'97 digital link and also supports DSP and S/PDIF data interfaces. The surface-mount package is suited for automated assembly on standard PCB processes.
