The AD1847JP is a 16-bit Stereo Audio codec from the AD1847 series, integrating two ADCs and two DACs with a Sigma-Delta modulator topology. Data interface supports both Parallel and Serial modes.
Supply rails and temperature grade – fit check
Analog and digital supplies both run from 4.75V to 5.25V — a single 5V rail can power the entire codec, simplifying the power tree. Dynamic range is specified at 70 dB typ for the ADC path and 76 dB typ for the DAC path.
Package and mounting – rework and footprint notes
Housed in a 44-lead PLCC with J-leads (44-PLCC, 16.59x16.59 mm body). The J-lead footprint is surface-mount but does not require the fine-pitch stencil of a QFP — a standard PLCC socket or solder paste profile works. RoHS non-compliant — the part contains lead in the solder finish. If your assembly line is RoHS-exempt (industrial / medical / military), this is fine; for consumer RoHS-mandated production, a Pb-free equivalent would need to be sourced.
Lifecycle and sourcing – active but niche
However, it is a legacy part from the SoundComm era; volume may be low, and lead times can stretch. The AD1847 series has few direct cross-shoppers — the 44-PLCC footprint and 5V-only supply are increasingly uncommon in modern audio codecs.
