Active production, no end-of-life flag
The 1.5KE250A/B: It remains a standard catalog item for both new designs and field replacements.
Transient protection envelope for a 250 V rail
This means the diode begins conducting above 214 V and limits the transient to 344 V — suitable for protecting 240 VAC or 250 VDC rails from lightning or inductive spikes. It is a single unidirectional Zener-type TVS, so polarity matters: the anode must connect to ground, cathode to the protected rail. Bidirectional versions are available in the same 1.5KE series if the application requires symmetrical clamping. The operating temperature range spans -55°C to 150°C junction, covering industrial enclosures and under-hood automotive environments without derating concerns. Note the 'No Power Line Protection' flag — this is a signal/data-line TVS, not a mains-rated surge suppressor. Use it on DC power inputs, communication lines, or I/O ports, not on AC mains without additional coordination.
Through-hole DO-201 — field-swappable package
Housed in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial leaded package, the 1.5KE250A/B is a through-hole part. It can be hand-soldered or socketed in minutes — no reflow profile, no hot-air station. For a field-service kit, it is easy to carry and swap on site.
