Voltage protection and pulse handling
The 1.5KE24CA/B: The 20.5 V reverse standoff (working voltage) means the diode draws negligible leakage below that level, so it does not load the protected rail during normal operation. Breakdown is guaranteed between 22.8 V and the clamping voltage of 33.2 V at 45.8 A — the 10/1000 µs pulse shape is the standard TVS test condition per IEC 61000-4-5, so the 1500 W rating is directly comparable across manufacturers.
Package and board integration
Supplied in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead package, through-hole mounted. The DO-201 footprint is standard across the 1.5KE family, so the same PCB layout accepts any voltage variant in the series. The bidirectional configuration uses a single device for symmetrical clamping — no need to series two unidirectional diodes for AC or bipolar DC rails.
