Clamping voltage and surge current — what the ratings mean for your BOM
The 1.5KE220A/B: The 4.6 A peak pulse current (at 10/1000 µs) is the surge the device can shunt; for a 24 VDC supply line with a 185 V standoff, this TVS absorbs transients up to that current without exceeding the clamping ceiling. No power line protection is offered — this is a unidirectional Zener TVS for signal or DC rail clamping, not for AC mains surge suppression.
Sourcing and lifecycle posture
No official successor or pin-compatible alternative is documented; the 1.5KE series covers a range of standoff voltages, so a different voltage variant would require a BOM change.
