200 V, 3 A — the ratings that decide fit
Rated 200 V peak reverse voltage and 3 A average rectified output current (Io), the VS-KBPC102 is a single-phase bridge rectifier built for low-to-moderate power DC supplies — think 50/60 Hz line-frequency rectification in a bulk capacitor input filter. Forward voltage drop is specified at 1.1 V max when the device is conducting 1.5 A. At full 3 A load the Vf will be higher — budget around 1.2–1.3 V — so the total conduction loss at 3 A is roughly 3.6–3.9 W, which the KBPC-1 package dissipates through its copper pads and the board copper. Reverse leakage is 10 µA at the rated 200 V reverse voltage and 25°C junction. This number climbs exponentially with temperature — at 125°C junction it can be two to three orders of magnitude higher, so a hot-running supply needs to account for the leakage contribution to the thermal budget.
Through-hole KBPC-1 — the board-level footprint
The VS-KBPC102 comes in the 4-Square KBPC-1 package, a through-hole module with four 0.25-inch quick-connect tab terminals. The mounting hole in the centre of the plastic body accepts a screw or rivet to the chassis or heatsink — the tab terminals alone do not provide mechanical retention against vibration. The 150°C abs-max junction means the heatsink design must keep the junction below that under worst-case ambient and load.
