Why the 210 ns reverse recovery time matters for your PFC or output stage
The VS-ETL1506FP-M3 is a Vishay FRED Pt® fast-recovery epitaxial diode rated 600 V reverse and 15 A average forward current. The 210 ns reverse recovery time (trr) cuts switching loss in a boost diode or output rectifier.
Forward drop and thermal budget — the conduction-loss pair
At 15 A the forward voltage is 1.07 V typical. That figure drives the heatsink sizing, especially with the TO-220-2 Full Pack package. The junction temperature range is -65 to 175 °C, which covers industrial and some automotive under-hood environments. Reverse leakage at 600 V is 15 µA typical — low enough that it does not add measurable loss at high line.
